Piracy and illicit drug use in West Africa

The Gulf of Guinea has become the new hub for African Piracy. There were more than 205 recorded pirate raids over the past 11 years. During an international summit in Lome, Togo, countries that share The Gulf of Guinea coastline will try to look for answers. This problem is so important for the stability of the region due to the fact that African countries derive almost 90% of their revenue form the export of products via maritime routes. Will the UN resolution bring prosperity to the region putting an end to the piracy?
